The Story
Bowerbird is the creative practice of Linda Bower. Much like the resourceful bird, Linda curates and forages natural plant materials with which she uses experimental dye techniques to create one-of-a-kind textiles. Each piece is slowly and thoughtfully made in her Brooklyn, NY studio.

The Bowerbird in the wild is known to be “the architect”; males adorn elaborate structures with colorful objects to attract potential mates. They are always in motion, building or performing a feathery dance to impress.
Drawing on her background in interior architecture, Linda developed a passion for the use of natural materials and how they shape and color the environment we live in.
Now with a focus on the human-scale, she explores the relationship of ourselves within and to that same environment.
